I Don’t Have Time for Metadata! Adding Automated Categorization to Your Workflow

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Automated categorization is a means of extending your expertise past what you can possibly categorize manually. During software set-up, some of your expertise is transferred to the software, which can then process much more material than you could ever process manually. Hear from a panel of librarians who have worked with auto-categorization products. Learn how auto-categorization was embedded into their workflows, as well as what they learned about the challenges, costs and required skill sets. Have some experience with auto-categorization? There will opportunity to share your insights as well.

Take-aways:

  1. How does your expertise get embedded into the process?

  2. How taxonomies can improve auto-categorization results.
